Vocal Coach

With the increased popularity of TV programmes such as ‘X Factor’, American Idol, and ‘The Voice’ there has been a surge of interest in singing and performing with both the younger generation and adults alike. Jeanne is a successful vocal coach who brings an innovative and fun way of teaching singing and live performance. Whether a beginner, advanced, young or old – it is never too late to start singing – whether you seek a career in music or just want to do it just for fun!  Singing is good for confidence building, bringing out your true personality and the sense of real achievement.

Jeanne trained at the highly acclaimed Arts Educational Schools in the UK in all aspects of live performance.  Working under her maiden name JEANNE DOWNS, she began her career as an actress and singer working in both theatre and TV productions all over the UK before she got her big break as a TV presenter/host fronting a NETWORK daily TV show called CHILDREN’S ITV. Jeanne presented for several years on many programmes before returning to her first love - music.

Jeanne then worked as a recoring artist and and had a succesful career as a session singer. Singing on both recordings and TV shows Jeanne honed her skills as a fully rounded vocalist. 

Jeanne was thrilled when the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford (ACM), Surrey, England approached her back in 2002 to devise and run an innovative course called POP ACADEMY.  Bringing in a host of music and TV experts she helped to develop the succesful Saturday school, running this for four years. Using the fantastic facilities at the ACM in Guildford, the curriculum included; vocal training, dancing and choreography, song writing and recording, staging, styling and live performance.  Each year the 100 students aged 12 - 30 put on a fantastic show at the Electric Theatre in Guildford, showcasing the excellent work they had achieved throughout the year. After securing government funding from The Learning Skills Council, Jeanne and the team were asked to devise a Full Time Pop Academy Diploma Course for Guildford College. By this time Jeanne also had a thriving private vocal coaching business. Jeanne also set up ‘The Live Lounge’ open mic nights at various venues in the Surrey area that ran until she left for Los Angeles.

SInce moving to Los Angeles Jeanne has built up a clientel of singers/actors that benifit from her skills as a vocal coach. She co-devised a brand new pre-school music program called LITTLE MUSIC STARS, which has been taught in various venues in LA and South East UK with a world-wide franchise opportunity soon available.

Jeanne teaches mainly in the comfort of her recording studio but also offers courses and workshops to local schools. Jeanne specializes in coaching ‘on-set’, concert arenas and at recording sessions. As well as teaching singing lessons, there is also an opportunity to record demos at her studio.
